Rosenwinkel on modern jazz guitar

I think Kurt Rosenwinkel should be included on the list. The guy is so versatile, he can even play a record with sequenced beats and still sound jazzy.

I think he have carried out guitar to new places. Guys like Metheny recognizes this fact.

One of my all time favorites is definitely Jim Hall, what a master of the guitar.

Bill Frisell is another very unique guy, his sound is very individual even though for a lot of people he sounds dirty, but I think that is a big part of his personality as a player.
