From a Colleague ...

Marc-Andre Seguin is a colleague of mine, as we have performed many times together. Through these experiences I have learned a great deal about Marc-Andre, and have many pleasant observations to convey regarding this fine young musician.
First and foremost is his enthusiasm for jazz music. I see Marc-Andre has a very strong respect for the tradition of jazz as well as the creative element that has become so important in the development of a today's jazz musician. He is constantly making reference to, in his music and discourse, musicians old and new. He is also expanding his frontiers through composition of original music.
Secondly, I am impressed by his humility toward being a student of the music, as he is always asking questions of other musicians (such as myself) who have more experience and (perhaps) knowledge than he. He is an excellent study.
Finally, Marc-Andre has an entrepreneurial spirit which is necessary for a jazz musician to develop a career amongst today's difficult conditions. Using internet resources, Marc-Andre is developing a solid future for himself as a contributor to the music. In light of his motivation in this area, there is no doubt his imagination or determination in developing a career in jazz music. (...)
